OUR MISSION

Our mission: Empowering students to aspire and volunteers to inspire

OUR COMMUNITY

It is our goal to help as many students as possible. In the 2017-2018 school year, we are working with students in East Palo Alto, East Menlo Park and East San Jose. We hope to grow to new schools throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond every year. Dialog to Learn is available to everyone, without regard to race, color, origin, gender, political affiliation, disability, sexual orientation, or religion.

OUR (HI)STORY

The concept of Dialog journalling has been around for decades, being used in various ways on a small scale.

Dialog to Learn was founded in 2017, focusing on lower income schools in the San Francisco Bay Area.

In the future, Dialog to Learn will aim to serve more communities through its highly scalable app and approach, keeping its program completely free for low-income schools.

OUR CORE VALUES

Inclusivity
We celebrate, respect, and include people from all backgrounds regardless of race, color, gender, political affiliation, disability, religion, or sexual orientation,

Community
We work together with the communities we serve and our community partners. All of us, including our staff and volunteers, pledge to support each other in our work, goals, and self-improvement. We encourage and provide educational opportunities to our staff and volunteers whenever possible.

Self-improvement
We are always looking for new ways to improve our organization and programs. At Dialog to Learn everyone has the opportunity to give and receive open, honest, and constructive feedback in a safe environment. We seek out honest, open, and constructive feedback from others - those who participate in our program as well as the larger community.

Good Stewardship
We are committed to caring and responsible stewardship of all of our resources - people, nature, and financial. We have integrity and are always accountable for our actions. We value people’s time, talent, and giving. We maintain environmentally responsible practices. We spend our funds wisely and always strive for sustainability.
